Kitchen 7: by Gable & Company Kitchen & Bath

Project Description:

The existing kitchen in this remodel project, while functional, was very modern. Our client’s style was more transitional with an emphasis on function. Our priority was to add a large island, which would be the focal point of the room. We were also asked to create plenty of shelving to display cherished treasures from our client’s world travels.

We went with Showplace Cabinetry because of their quality, door style, and storage options. The result was inset cabinet doors and minimal design detail. Stacked cabinetry with decorative glass and inside cabinet lights were installed to enhance the style.

The generous island was softened with the use of grey paint brushed with a vintage walnut glaze. Large island legs and open shelves were installed on the island. The same finish and open shelves were incorporated into the entertainment center in the great room to facilitate room flow.

Individual thirty-six inch refrigerator and freezer by Sub Zero were specified in the design consultation, with a tall open shelf between the Sub Zeros. A high-end Wolf stove and oven was used.

The plumbing fixtures are a transitional design and the apron sink is spacious. A second sink was added in the island to allow for food preparation. The countertops are low maintenance Quartzite, with grey field tile with herringbone accents in the custom look backsplash. Finishing it off, is a simple stainless steel cabinet hardware design.
