Kitchen 5: by Designed by Julie, LLC

Project Description:

This 3,700 sq.ft. brick ranch was built in 1954 from an Alden Dow design. A 1979 home remodel kept the retained the white metal kithchen cabinetry, but obstructed the view of the Midland Country Club golf course.

The back of the home is a wall of glass windows and doors. During the 2015 kitchen remodel, designer Julie Ratcliffe, restored the view, along with giving the kitchen a much needed face lift. The new kitchen has a clean line, which is the style of the home and the architect, who wanted to "bring the outdoors in." Julie chose ShowPlace Cabinetry "Heritage" square, in cherry, with a Peppercorn Gray wash for the customer. Hardware is Amerock "Extensity" with satin nickel finish. Wolf appliances and other accessories are stainless. The countertops are Cambria "Torquay" quartz. Floor tile is Smoke color, 6" x 24" size. The backsplash is a 4"x12" Topcu Wooden White, honed with accent Glazzio "Diamond" series.

This ranch now has a beautiful open area, perfect for hosting a family gathering or entertaining a large event. General contractor/installer was William Eyre Construction Co.

Project Description:

Our client wished to update the kitchen but maintain a quaint sense of timeworn qualities befitting this lakefront home. The cabinetry from Showplace is full overlay Pendleton 275, and Maple with Light Mocha Brushed Vintage artistic finish. Countertops are Cambria quartz. The backsplash is a 2x4 inch porcelain tile, brick bond set with just the right amount of bling in the glass mixed mosaic. We built a special toaster oven garage fitted with a heat shield. The floors were refinished and stained to compliment the homeowners various beloved antique pieces.
