Kitchen 12: by Linden Kitchen & Bath, Inc

Project Description

Debra came to my showroom with the dream of turning her childhood farm home into a retirement home. In our initial meeting, Debra's only request was to have a raised bar top over a country sink that would look out over the newly added great room, which features a beautiful stone fireplace, four French doors, and rear windows with a view of the farms stunning meadow and pond. The selection of materials was challenging because the clients were living in Milan, Italy at the time. We had to rely on email, texts, and phone calls to complete the project.

Initially an L-shaped kitchen was planned but we soon discovered that the master bath was going to interfere with that design. So instead, we reconfigured the layout with a pantry. This added much desired functional storage space and a brick wall with built in shelves that enhanced Debra's dream kitchen.

The kitchen features Showplace Cabinetry in Chesapeake Casual Vintage-soft cream, a Wolf range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, Rohl Fireclay farmhouse sink, Grohe faucet, Marinace granite countertops and backsplash, and a custom hood.

We kept the farms original propane stove and incorporated it into the kitchen. Our goal was to keep the authentic farmhouse style of the house, while incorporating the updated functional amenities. The project turned out to be exceptional, both in functionality and appearance. It was a pleasure to work with Debra and Dale on this project.
